Robe Roadshow in Turkey
In parallel to the end of the week long Italian leg of the Robe “The Future is Digital” Roadshow, in Istanbul, Robe’s Turkish distributor Atempo, owned by Mujdat Konuralp, staged their event on Thursday and Friday November 6th and 7th.
The demos were run by Robe’s Customer Service Representative Petr Vanek and International Sales Manager Harry von den Stemmen.
A hotel conference room was chosen to accommodate the many interested industry professionals attending – who came from TV, live events and rental companies. A group of students from the private University for Communications’ Faculty of Radio & TV were also invited by Atempo.
Vanek and von den Stemmen compared “conventional” moving lights with digital moving lights, highlighting the advantages of the new technology. This was translated by electrical engineer Volkan Konuralp, Atempo’s Istanbul Region Manager, who also answered everyone’s questions, supported by Ahmet Ozgur, sales manager of MAVI Communications, a subsidiary of the Atempo group.
“With the students there, this Roadshow was slightly different” explains von den Stemmen, “Consequently, it required a slightly different and more generic approach as they are tomorrow’s operators, managers and customers, so the presentation had a more educational twist which was very well received. The questions and discussions certainly reflected the level of understanding and a keen interest”.
The Roadshow was combined with a presentation of ETC’s Eos and Ion lighting consoles by Dr. Florian Maier, who also used the Robe fixtures to illustrate this product in action.
A larger format Robe Roadshow is scheduled in Turkey for 2009.
