Robe Roadshow in Portugal

This 2-day event took place in two different locations - Mala Posta, a small theatre in Lisbon and at the Casa da Musica venue in Porto which stages and hosts over 200 large scale musicals a year. It was programmed by Luis Vidigal of Robe’s Portuguese distributor N.A.N. on a GrandMA console.

Mala Posta proved an excellent environment, with a selection of DigitalSpots and RED Series fixtures displayed onstage, and a huge projection screen utilized to show off the capabilities of the DigitalSpots. The two demo sessions were attended by approximately 30 high profile guests, invited from the worlds of TV, theatre, live events and rental companies. They all gave good feedback on DigitalSpot 7000 and 3000 DTs and Robe’s 700 Series – the ColorSpot and ColorWash 700 and ColorWash 750 AT Tungsten fixtures were also all featured at the demo.

At the end of the day, the kit was de-rigged, and everyone travelled to Porto to set up again at Casa da Musica ready for the next day.

This again saw two demo sessions. The first group of 12 people were from theatre, television and the corporate sector. The second session was attended by individual designers, programmers and specifiers.

N.A.N. is working on its first deal for 4 DigitalSpot 3000 DTs, and another demo will be organized in a few weeks specifically for Portugal’s TV stations and studios interested in DS 7000 DTs and the 700 Series. Another potential purchase is bubbling under from some  theatres for CW750 Tungstens. Additional Anolis products have also been requested by the Casa da Musica which already has both Anolis and Robe equipment installed.
