Robe’s Polish distributor Prolight hosted Robe’s “The Future is Digital” international roadshow at the Music Media show in Krakow, Poland.

Prolight’s impressive 200 square metre booth had a special area set aside for the Roadshow. The exhibition and it’s many visitors proved an “ideal opportunity to show the power and potential of Robe’s new digital technologies” says Prolight’s sales & marketing manager, Rafal Rzeczkowski. All the major players from the world of venues, clubs and lighting rental companies showed up at some stage, along with many LD’s programmers and operators.

It was also the first time Robe’s new flagship "The Future is Digital" branding was unveiled in Poland, along with the first showing of the new DigitalSpot 7000 and 3000 series.

Highlighted centre stage were DigitalSpot 3000DTs, DigitalSpot 7000DTs and the RED Wash 3•192 LED wash fixtures. For many, it was the first time they’d seen the technology  - so everyone was amazed by the possibilities.

In the centre of the booth was a striking 8 by 3 metre screen, filled with spectacular projections from 10 Digital Spot 3000 DTs, programmed by leading Polish lighting designer, Pawel “Spider” Pajak.

Visitors also saw Robe’s ColorSpot 700E ATs and various LED technology products in action, all of which combined to "move" them into the new and different Digital world. Furthermore, they discovered the benefits of RDM – Robe’s Remote Device Management protocol - and were able to experiment with Robe’s Media Fusion software along with a Hippotizer digital media server.

The Roadshow was so successful that a second leg has already been scheduled to be staged in December, in Warsaw. This will be by invitation only, and focused on professional designers, visual and scenic artists.

Prolight has already experienced huge interest in the Digital range. They have installed their first DS3000s into the buzzing new Capital club in Warsaw, with an order for 8 more units.

Pawel “Spider” Pajak comments, “The DigitalSpot 3000 and 7000s are extremely dynamic and flexible creative tools. It’s not about video projection, lighting or LEDs as three separate entities, it’s about all of these elements unified in one compact body”. He thinks this offers the opportunity to really push one’s creative boundaries to the next level.

“For me its not just another moving light projector doing ‘pretty’ effects. These products are very exciting, and have the power and scope to really change people’s perceptions about moving lights and what can be achieved with them”.

After his initial programming session on the DigitalSpots for the show, Pajak was really pleased with the effects. He then came back with a whole load of new ideas overnight, and wanted to incorporate these into the show the next day, a process that was very easy and totally flexible.

“It is also very quick to manage, upload and download video content to these factures” he maintains, adding that another beauty of having the RGB panel on the front of the fixture is the extra white diode.
