Robe Roadshow in Helsinki
The Robe Roadshow arrived in Helsinki amidst heavy snowfall, but a massively warm welcome from organizer Kari Toppari from LiveNation, Robe’s exclusive Finnish distributor.
A wide variety of lighting professionals from all areas of the business were very quick on the uptake for this opportunity to sample an exclusive single “The Future Is Digital” session at the LEIJA Business Centre.
Robe’s Gerald Heise and Ingo Dombrowski presented the programme which was tailored to current customer expectations and requirements.
Robe’s ColorWash 750 AT Tungsten wash light was of big interest. It generated much lively discussion about the use of such fixtures in theatre and TV applications, and its comparison with competitive products on the market. Features like the intense, flat light field, wide optical zoom range, ultra-fast response and speed and colour mixing impressed everyone.
This was followed by a longer discussion about ESTA’s new control protocol RDM, which has been recently introduced to all Robe Moving Lights featuring the RNS (Robe Navigation System).
Naturally, Robe’s new Digital Moving Lights, DigitalSpot 3000 and 7000 DT, were the highlight of the day. The DigitalSpot 3000 is the most compact sized, weighted and priced digital moving light currently available.
All the features of both units’ powerful embedded media server were demonstrated, followed by an intense Q&A session which left all with very positive impressions. The general vibe was that these fixtures are refreshingly different and extremely flexible for anything from TV and corporate shows to live events of all types, as well as attractions like bowling parks and clubs.
Many expressed the opinion that they think digital moving lights are the future, specially coupled with Robe’s reputation for reliable and quality-engineered products made in Europe.
